A bit about me

So, this is me; Josh Briars. I am a Bristol based Flatland BMX rider. I found BMX at 13 years old, and was amazed at what some people could do on a bike. I had a job as paperboy and I would always read the BMX magazines each month, until eventually I had saved up enough money to buy a bike of my own. From then on I didn’t want to do anything else apart from ride my BMX.

Over the years I’ve been to many contests and jams around the UK and Europe; and I plan to keep doing this for as long as I can. It’s a great environment at a contest or a jam, new and old friends getting new tricks and pushing each other to progress. For me motivation is always at an all time high after these events.

Alongside the competitive side of the sport I also have taken part in shows, demonstrations and workshops for Flatland BMX. Clients have ranged from local councils, schools, shopping centres, to theme parks, holiday camps and the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay. The great thing about Flatland BMX is the fact it can be done almost anywhere, as all that is needed is a hard, flat surface to ride on. The possibilities are endless…
